Who we are
Truscott Woodworks was born out of a New York City apartment where the only tools were a cheap Japanese pull saw, a few chisels, a handplane, and a Sjobergs countertop bench vice. That vice got clamped to our kitchen countertop when we weren’t cooking and the tools were stored in a Craftsman toolchest in the coat closet.
Our first projects were simple, made for family and friends, and crafted with the same care that we put into each of our production items and custom commissions today.
We’ve grown into a ~600 sq. ft. shop in the heart of Dallas, TX with many powertools and more lumber than I’d ever imagined having access to. Our projects have become more complex as well. In the early days we saw stepping stools and bookshelves for my first daughter’s nursery coming out of “the shop.”
Stepping stools and hanging shelves have evolved into end tables, cutting and charcuterie boards, shop cabinetry, and custom built-ins to murphy beds, home offices, and bookcases.
We invite you to browse our catalog of available items and welcome commission requests for custom furniture, cabinetry, and 3D printing. Whether you’re here for a long time, a short time, make a purchase or become one of our life-long, return clients we’re glad you’re here and hope to hear from you on our socials or through our contact form below!
